*Signature File Update Information for MacTools Anti-Virus Version 2.0*
The self-extracting file named MACSIG is for users of Central Point Anti-Virus for Macintosh Version 2.0. It contains update files that include additional virus signatures as of April 22, 1993.
To update your version of Central Point Anti-Virus for Macintosh, follow these steps:
1. If you are on CompuServe, the Central Point BBS, AppleLink, or America Online, download the self-extracting MACSIG file to a temporary folder on your hard drive.

If you have the Central Point Anti-Virus Signature Disk, copy the self-extracting file MACSIG to a temporary folder on your hard drive.
2. Double-click on the MACSIG file to extract the update signature file, and the Read Me file.
NOTE: To update the CP Anti-Virus Control Panel, it must be installed in the System Folder and active. If you use an extension manager, such as Startup Manager from Now Utilities, be sure to have the CP Anti-Virus Control Panel enabled and active before updating the virus signature.
3. If you are updating a single machine, open the Anti-Virus program from the Finder. DO NOT open the Anti-Virus application from the CP Anti-Virus Control Panel.
4. Click Virus-List, click Add Signatures, then click Load. Select the new signature file and click Open.
Both the Anti-Virus control panel and the Anti-Virus application are updated. Look for the new Virus names in the Virus List to make sure that the file was loaded properly.
5. Quit the application, restart your computer, then use Central Point Anti-Virus to scan each hard drive and ensure no viruses are present.
NOTE TO SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS:
If you are a system administrator and have a folder set up on a file server for automatically updating the Anti-Virus control panel, copy the new signature file to that folder. When Central Point Anti-Virus users access the file server volume, their copy of Central Point Anti-Virus control panel is updated automatically.
